FAQ’s – GENERAL
What kind of equipment do you photograph with?
I use Nikon Professional gear. I am continually investing in new and innovative equipment to provide my clients with the best image quality possible.
What editing program do you use?
I use Photoshop CS5 for the majority of the editing process.
How do you back-up the images?
Once your session is complete, I immediately upload your images from my camera to my laptop and then to an external hard drive; leaving the images on the memory cards as additional back up. Once I return home, all original images are stored on my external hard drive, laptop and original memory cards until editing has been completed. Once the editing process is complete, images are re-stored on my laptop, external hard drive, burned to a CD and finally they are uploaded to secure album on my website. Storing the images on my website is an excellent way to ensure that even if you should misplace your images, they are always safe and sound on my website. Replacement CD’s are $10.
Will I get the high-resolution files?
Yes, the High Resolution digital files will be provided to your email in a downloadable link. For weddings, you will be provided a CD(s) as well. Digital copies are delivered upon receiving your password protected online gallery. Images are selected and edited at the Photographer’s discretion. Crystal Eve Photography reserve the right to edit and release only those images deemed creditable as professional in quality and within the Photographer’s artistic standards. The CD includes the images included in the client gallery.
How many images do you end up with for most sessions?
This will depend on the photography session you choose. You can rest easy knowing your event or photo shoot will be very well documented!
What is required to book my date?
I require a 50% deposit of your session price, along with your signed contract to book the date. The final 50% is due 1 week prior to the date of your scheduled shoot. Please remember that dates are limited. They are first-come, first-serve upon the receipt of a signed contract and reservation fee. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
How long does it take to receive the proof images?
I process orders on a first-come, first-serve basis. Generally you should allow 3-5 weeks for editing and delivery time. Also note that any order received after November 15th is not guaranteed to be completed in time for Christmas. Please be prepared to get your order in early if you want prints as Christmas gifts.
What is included in our session?
Your session includes up to 120 minutes of shooting on location within 30 miles of Seattle unless another location is arranged beforehand. If you need ideas on locations, don't worry I have plenty of suggestions! I also allow my clients to pick a location that might be special to them. Your online ordering gallery will be posted 3-5 weeks after your session is shot. The online gallery is where you can order all prints and other products. All products, including prints, albums and canvas wraps are available for purchase á la carte from your online gallery unless otherwise noted in your package. Crystal Eve Photography reserves the right to select the images included in the gallery. Images are selected and edited at the Photographer’s discretion and reserves the right to edit and release only those deemed creditable as professional in quality and within the Photographer’s artistic standards. FAQ’s – BOUDOIR
How many Boudoir sessions do you book a year?
I only take a maximum of 25 Boudoir Sessions per year. This insures that each of my clients receives the proper attention to detail from start to finish.
Is there a minimum of guests required to book a Boudoir Party?
Yes, I require a minimum of 5 guests to book your Boudoir Party and up to 10 guests total.
What should I wear to a Boudoir session?
Your session allows for two wardrobe changes. Choose lingerie that you are comfortable in and something you think might blow your significant other’s mind when they see you in it! Get as creative as you like, I’ve seen it all so there is no need to be shy or embarrassed by what you decide to wear. Props can be fun too! Avoid reflective fabrics and make-up, as they will create imperfections on your images that are difficult to edit out. If you need any further direction, take a look at the examples located in the “Boudoir” gallery on my website.
Do you do hair and make-up?
Yes! I have extensive experience with hair and make-up and would be happy to assist. However, I do ask that you provide all products and allow an additional hour of time prior to when your shoot begins. I do charge an additional flat rate of $35 for hair and make-up. Should you choose to do your own hair and make-up, I ask that you not use glitter or reflective powders or crèmes as they will create reflections and imperfections that are difficult to edit out.
Where do you shoot the Boudoir sessions?
Parties can be held in the privacy of your home. For both parties and private sessions, I travel to your home or a location of your choice and photograph you on site.
Will my friends be photographed at the Boudoir Parties?
Of course! The Hostess or Bachelorette receives 40 minutes of photographic time and up to two wardrobe changes, with hair and make-up at no additional charge. Guests attending the party that would like to be photographed receive 20 minutes of photographic time; one wardrobe change and they must do their own hair and make-up prior to arriving at the shoot. There is no additional charge for guests being photographed. All I ask is that the guests being photographed order a minimum of $50 in prints and/or products from their private online gallery.
FAQ’s – WEDDING
Why do you not have packages listed on your website?
Every wedding has a budget and I want to be sure your photographic needs are met and fall within that budget. My minimum rate is $2,500. Depending on your needs and expectations, I will create a rate that works for you. Capturing your memories is priceless but shouldn’t break the bank! Engagement sessions are inclusive of all wedding packages and at no additional cost. All products, including prints, albums and canvas wraps are available for purchase á la carte from your online gallery unless otherwise noted in your package.
Where will the Engagement shoot be and for how long?
Your sessions include up to 120 minutes of shooting on location within 30 miles of Seattle unless another location is arranged beforehand. The client is expected to do the driving, however, if you prefer that I provide transportation, fuel costs will apply. If you need ideas on locations, don't worry I have plenty of suggestions! I highly recommend my clients to pick a location that might be special to them for your Engagement session.
What should I wear to an Engagement session?
Your session allows for two wardrobe changes. I recommend that you have one casual outfit and one nice outfit. Bright colors are always great but being comfortable and being yourself is the most important thing. If you need any further direction, take a look at some of the other sessions located in the “Engagement” gallery on my website.

Absolutely! I hope to be there to capture every moment. I place no time limits or restrictions on your special day.
Do you have an assistant?
Depending on the size and location of your wedding, I will ask my assistant to be present. However, my assistant will not be photographing your wedding, but rather act as an extra set of hands when needed. Additional fees will apply if you request a second photographer to be present.
Will you print any photos?
All products, including prints, albums and canvas wraps are available for purchase á la carte from your online gallery unless otherwise noted in your package. If you would like me to create a package for you that is inclusive of prints and/or an album, I would be happy to discuss that with you. FAQ’s – PORTRAIT
What should I wear to a Portrait session?
Your session allows for two wardrobe changes. Bright colors are always great. Avoid reflective fabrics and make up, as they will create imperfections on your images. Depending on the use of your portraits, sometimes wearing something you might not normally choose for yourself can be a fun way to display a different side of you. If you need any further direction, take a look at some of the other sessions located in the “Portraits” gallery on my website.

What do we do if it is raining on the day of an outdoor session?
Generally if it is just a light mist, I will proceed with the session. Bring along an umbrella just in case! Typically, I will take you inside local coffee shops, under awnings etc. until the rain passes. However, in the case of heavy downpours I will re-schedule the session for another time. Despite what some people may think, cloudy days are fantastic for photos!
FAQ’s – AUTOMOTIVE
What are static shots?
Using a location of your choice, I will ask you to position and park your vehicle. I will then move around and inside your vehicle, photographing every possible angle, even lying on the ground to get shots of your undercarriage while your car is static.
What are rolling shots?
Rolling shots take a bit of coordination on both the driver and the photographer’s part. Two drivers and vehicles are needed to accomplish rolling shots. The second vehicle and driver will need to be provided by the client. After locating a stretch of road with two to four lanes, I will be positioned in the lead vehicle, while the vehicle being photographed follows in the next lane(s) over at the same speed and slightly behind the lead vehicle. I will be photographing your vehicle by essentially hanging out of the passenger side window. Obviously there is some risk involved, but the risk is worth it in my opinion! The shots taken give movement and grace with the vehicle in focus while the wheels and background appear in motion. I highly recommend rolling shots as part of your shoot. This style of automotive photography is very difficult to obtain and highly sought after. If you are looking to impress on an automotive forum or your friends, rolling shots are the way to go! To see examples, please visit the “Automotive” gallery on my website.
Do I need to wax my car?
It is not necessary to wax your car but I do ask that you wash and dry your car thoroughly. Some shots will be taken up close so dirt and water spots will be visible.
What do we do if it is raining on the day of the session?
Generally if it is just a light mist, I will proceed with the session. However, in the case of heavy downpours I will re-schedule the session for another time. Despite what some people may think, cloudy days are fantastic for photos!
Can you create a forum signature?
Absolutely! I will create two forum signature layouts in Photoshop as part of your package. Forum signatures are a fantastic way to show off your vehicle at the end of every post you make on your forum of choice.
